Spock's Fail Stamp

Thats right. Spock is supposed to be the really smart, and awesome half-Vulcan of the Enterprise. But you see, in Star Trek: The Animate Series he fails. Hard. And no one noticed besides me, apparently.
How does he fail? Let me give you the exact dialougue from the episode.

Capt. Kirk: What happened down there, Bones?
Bones: Well, I can't understand it Jim, it looked exactly the same as before, even Alice and the White Rabbit. Then an army of playin' cards came out of nowhere, only they weren't playin'. I was lucky to escape with my life.
Spock: The Queen of Hearts and her cards are characters from 'Alice Through the Looking Glass', Captain.
Capt. Kirk: I read the book as a child, Mr. Spock, but I wasn't aware that you indulged in literature of fantasy.
Spock: Light reading is considered relaxing, Captain. My mother was particulary fond of Lewis Carroll's work.

Whats wrong with that? Easy. The Queen of Hearts (and her cards) do not appear in 'Through the Looking Glass' they appear in 'Alice in Wonderland'. Through the Looking Glass was the sequel, but NOT THE RIGHT BOOK. Seeing as his mother was very fond of Carroll's work, he has failed her in mixing them up.
